National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, or simply NCHMCT, is an autonomous body, which falls under the Ministry of Tourism of Government of India. This centrally run Council is one of the best places to get Hotel Management training from, which offers more than 10 carefully structured courses at 71 institutes spread across the length and breadth of India, which include the central, state, PSU and Privately run institutes which follow the same Curriculum provided by the Council. Every year the Council, with the help of NTA or the National Testing Agency conducts a National level entrance called the NCHMCT JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) which admits numerous students into their Hospitality and Hotel Management courses.

Some changes over the years
- The mode of examination was online computer based as usual.
- Till 2018, the total weightage of the exam was 200 marks. However, from 2019 onwards, the total marks has been increased by 600 marks, i.e, it is now at 800 marks. The timing remains to be 3 hours.
- There are no changes in terms of the syllabus of the examination. There will be 5 sections as per normal, which are English Language, Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude, Reasoning and Logical Deduction, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, and lastly, Aptitude for Service Sector. All of the sections will have different weightage each, with the highest being 60 marks (English).
- The marking scheme has also gone through a change since 2019. Every correct answer will fetch +4 marks, while every incorrect attempt will take away 1 mark.
- All the questions will be Objective (MQC) type.
- Rough sheets will be provided by the centre of examination.
NCHMCT JEE 2019 Exam Analysis

- The exam was conducted on 27th april 2019, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
- The time to complete the exam was 3 hours.
- The maximum marks for the exam was 800, as opposed to 200 as seen in exams before 2019.
- The marking scheme underwent a change as well, with +4 marks for every correct attempt and -1 deducted for every incorrect attempt.
- The exam was Objective type.

2. Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude Section Analysis
While the section in NCHMCT JEE 2019 was just like the previous year’s in its difficulty level, students found that while the overall section was found to be moderate level. The section had moderate levels of questions from a lot of topics from higher secondary classes. A lot of questions were based on Arithmetic.
