AILET 2021 was held on 30th July 2021. The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is held every year around May. National Law University, Delhi is the only NLU among the total of 23 that does not admit the students on the basis of CLAT or Common Law Admission Test. Section-Wise Analysis of AILET 2021
1) English
The English section of AILET 2021 consisted of a variety of topics including book excerpts and current affairs. A score of 30 is considered good. The types of questions that appeared in this section included the following:
- Grammar-based: Parts of speech
- Inference-based and Fact-based: Reading comprehension
- Vocabulary-based: Synonyms, antonyms, meanings.
2) General Knowledge
This section contained questions of general knowledge. The ideal score for this section is 25 to 28. The section, which was easy contained the following topics:
- Current Affairs
- Science, Economy
- History
- Static GK
- International Events
- UN Bodies
- Sports
- Awards and Honours
- Eminent Personalities
3) Numerical Ability
The numerical ability section consisted of the following topics:
- Percentage
- Interest
- Time & Work
- Profit & Loss
- Average
- Venn Diagram
- Linear Equation
Therefore, the section was on the easier side. Answering all the questions in this section depending on how much time you spent on the first. However, a score of 8 can be considered good for this section as it was relatively easy.
4) Legal Reasoning
Straight forward questions were asked in this section that included general knowledge about legal affairs and questions pertaining to specific areas such as the following:
- Law of Torts
- Contracts Law
- Criminal Law
Answering 28 to 30 questions is considered ideal.
5) Logical Reasoning
Logical Reasoning is the section where time management becomes an important factor. This section was neither easy nor difficult. Ideally, answering 28 to 30 questions is considered best. This section consisted of the following types of questions:
- Word Formation
- Coding
- Directions, Number, and Letter Series
- Syllogisms
- Statement and Assumption
- Statements and Conclusions
- Blood Relations
- Critical Reasoning
