Indian Army organises 400 KM ‘JAZBAA-E-TIRANGA’ Relay Marathon in J&K
The Indian Army organized a 400 km ‘JAZBAA-E-TIRANGA’ Relay Marathon in Jammu & Kashmir.
The marathon was flagged off by Major General Rajeev Puri who led the race where more than 300 troops took part carrying the Indian Flag all along the LoC.
The run inundated the spirit of brotherhood as each soldier carried the National Flag of comradeship across the Area of responsibility (AOR).

Indian Navy conducts bilateral maritime exercise with Vietnam
The Indian Navy and Vietnam People’s Navy (VPN) undertook a bilateral exercise in the South China Sea to strengthen the defense ties between the two navies.
INS Ranvijay & INS Kora took part from India while VPNS Ly Thai To participated from Vietnam’s side in the drill.
The bilateral interaction aims to consolidate the strong bond shared by the two navies and strengthen the defense relations between the two nations.

Piyush Goyal chairs the 5th meeting of BRICS Industry Meeting
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal chaired the 5th meeting of BRICS Industry Ministers calling for the expansion of the horizon of the New Development Bank (NDB).
The theme chosen for this year by India is “Intra BRICS Cooperation for Continuity, Consolidation, and Consensus”.
The BRICS ministers called for the need to adopt emerging new technologies, recognizing it as an important tool for modernization and transformation of the industry.

India-Bangladesh sign MoU on Disaster Management
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the MoU on Disaster Management between Indian and Bangladesh.
The MoU was signed between the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the Ministry of Disaster Management & Relief, Bangladesh.
The MoU will help in strengthening preparedness, response, and capacity building in the area of Disaster management for both countries.

External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar has announced the rollout of the ‘UNITE Aware’ tech to help protect the UN peacekeepers.
Jaishankar made the announcement at the UN headquarters in New York while he was chairing the UN Security Council open debate on ‘Technology and Peacekeeping’.
Keeping in mind the nature of the complexity of peacekeeping, it has become more significant to upgrade capabilities to secure the peacekeepers.

Indian athletes leave for Tokyo Paralympics 2020
The first batch of Indian athletes including flagbearer Thangavelu Mariyappan has left for the Tokyo Paralympics.
This year will mark the 16th edition of the Summer Paralympic Games or the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
The 2020 Paralympic games will mark the introduction of Badminton and Taekwondo replacing Sailing and 7-a-side football games.
