AIMA UGAT aspirants should follow a proper strategy to crack the exam. There is a wide range of topics to be covered under different subjects.
UGAT or Undergraduate Aptitude Test is conducted by the All India Management Association on a national level to select potential students for programs like Integrated MBA (IMBA), BHM, BBA, B.Com, BCA, etc. AIMA UGAT 2020 was conducted in both the Paper Based Test (PBT) and Internet-Based Test (IBT) mode.
There are several colleges under AIMA UGAT, candidates need to prepare well if they need to get into one of the UGAT top colleges.
AIMA UGAT Eligibility
Qualification: Candidates should have passed their 10th and 12th-grade from a recognized board. Students who are yet to appear/appear can also apply for the UGAT entrance exam.
Age Limit: The age limit is not specified. However, the minimum age of applicants needs to be 17 years.
AIMA UGAT Exam Pattern
The exam consists of 4 sections namely, English Language, Numerical and Data Analysis, Reasoning and General Intelligence, and General Knowledge. The total marks for the exam are 130.
Candidates who have chosen the BHM program as their course preference would have a different exam pattern with extra 2 sections called Scientific Aptitude and Service Aptitude because of the nature of the course. The total marks for BHM would be 180.

Marking scheme of UGAT exam: Each correct answer would be given one mark and 0.5 would be reduced for every wrong answer.
AIMA UGAT Beginner’s Preparation Strategy
Candidates are advised to follow the given strategies to boost their performance in the aptitude test.
1. Go through the Syllabus
The first step while preparing for any entrance exam would be understanding the syllabus. Under each topic, there are several important sections that you must cover. To figure out where you need to focus on more, go through the UGAT syllabus.Â
2. Prepare a Time-Table
Preparing a timetable is one of the effective methods used by top students. This will get you an idea of how to prepare efficiently utilizing the time you have left. Cover all the important topics while making the timetable. Make sure you are distributing them in a manner that you can follow easily and does not become hectic at the same time.
3. Get Study Materials/ Preparation Books
Study materials can help you plot in preparing for the UGAT exam section-wise. Along with numerous questions to practice on, the books would also provide sample question papers as well for you to work on.
4. Analyze Previous Years’ Question Papers
This can help you a lot in figuring out the type of questions that are asked in the UGAT entrance exam. You will figure out how to work on each question by working on the question papers. Also study the previous years’ UGAT exam analysis.
5. Write down Notes
Keeping notes while preparing can be a savior in the last days of the exam. Make it a habit to write notes, especially those formulas you can’t get yourself to memorize.
6. Intelligent Focus
Focus and work more on subjects like Numerical and Data Analysis and Reasoning and Intelligence because it demands in-depth knowledge of formulae. Only practicing a lot can help you ace this section. Also, give more attention to your weak areas.
7. Practice Sample papers and Mock Tests
Time management is an important factor of AIMA UGAT. You need to be able to answer all the questions in the given time. Candidates tend to lose a lot of time over sections like Numerical and Data Analysis. By doing mock tests you will be able to analyze the time you are taking to answer each question. This will help you improve your pace gradually.
