Anshu Malik becomes first Indian woman wrestler to reach the 2021 World Championship finals
Anshu Malik has become the first Indian woman wrestler to reach the finals of the 2021 World Wrestling Championships.
The 19-year old wrestler hailing from India controlled the semi-final against the European junior champion Solomiia Vynnyk from the beginning.
To date, only four Indian women wrestlers have won medals at the Worlds- Geeta Phogat, Babita Phogat, Pooja Dhanda, and Vinesh Phogat.
Quick Facts: Indian has only one World Champion in wrestling- Sushil Kumar.

Annual International G-20 Conference held
The 13th Annual International G-20 Conference was held recently.
Indian was represented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
According to FM, the G20 presidency will provide an excellent platform for Indian in putting forward its vision regarding the future reflecting sustainability, innovation, inclusiveness, and justice.
Quick Fact: The Annual International G20 Conference will be co-hosted by Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) and ADBI.

ICMR releases MUDRA Toolbox in 5 Indian languages
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) released the ‘Multilingual Dementia Research and Assessment (MUDRA)” Toolbox in five Indian Languages.
The Toolbox has been launched in languages including Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam.
MUDRA Toolbox project is led by the ICMR Neuro-Cognitive Tool Box (ICMR-NCTB) partnership with various medical colleges.

WHO apporves Wolrd’s first Malaria vaccine
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has endorsed the Malaria Vaccine called “RTS, S/AS01”.
The RTS, S/AS01 is the world’s first vaccine against the mosquito-borne disease which kills around 400,000 people worldwide in a year.
The vaccine was first made in 1987 by the pharmaceutical company GSK.
Quick Fact: R21/Matric-M is the most effective malaria vaccine having an efficacy rate of 77%.

NASA to launch DART Mission to outer space
NASA has announced to launch an “Asteroid killing Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART)” spacecraft on November 24, 2021.
The spacecraft will be launched aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket from the Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.
Under this mission, NASA will build advanced tech which would protect the Earth from a hazardous asteroid collision.
Quick Facts: The spacecraft has been built and developed at the John Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL).

SBI launches NAV-eCash Card for the Indian Navy
State Bank of India (SBI) has partnered with the Indian Navy to launch NAV-eCash for naval personnel on board the country’s largest Naval Aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya.
The card will remove the challenges faced by the personnel on board in handling physical cash during the deployment of the ship at the high seas.
The card will facilitate both online and offline transactions with its dual-chip tech.
