‘Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission’ launched
PM Narendra Modi has launched ‘Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (ABHIM)’ from his parliamentary constituency Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
The mission aims to address the gaps in public health infrastructure with a focus on critical care facilities and primary care in urban and rural areas.
The total outlay of the mission is INR 5,000 crores.

Rajnikanth conferred with 51st Dada Saheb Phalke Award
Actor Rajnikanth has been conferred with the 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his stupendous contribution to Indian cinema at the 67th National Film Awards ceremony.
The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is awarded for excellence in cinematic achievement and is the highest honor in the film awarded by the Government of India.
The recipient of the 2018 Dadasaheb Award was Amitabh Bachchan.

Ahmedabad and Lucknow are the two new teams of the Indian Premier League (IPL) from 2022.
RP- Sanjiv Goenka Group (RPSG) is the owner of the Lucknow team while the CVC Capital Partners is the owner of the Ahmedabad team.
The total number of teams in the competition has now been increased to 10.

UIDAI to conduct ‘Aadhaar Hackathon-2021’
UIDAI is going to conduct an ‘Aadhaar Hackathon 2021’ from 28th October 2021 to 31st October 2021 to promote the culture of innovation among the Indian youth.
Hackathon consists of multiple problem statements categorized under two broad themes: Enrolment and Authentication.
The event will be conducted from 28th October to 31st October.

Government sets up National Steering Committee for NIPUN Bharat Mission
A National Steering Committee (NSC) for implementation of the NIPUN Bharat Mission has been constituted by the Department of School Education and Literacy.
The focus of the committee is to achieve the goal of universal proficiency in foundational literacy and numeracy for every child by the year 2026-27.
The committee seeks to develop the methodology of assessment to analyze the progress of education and provide feedback to states/UTs.

India, UK and Australia to jointly launch IRIS initiative at COP26
India, Australia, and the UK in collaboration with small island developing states (SIDS) have planned to launch ‘Infrastructure for Resilient Island States (IRIS)’ on the sidelines of COP26.
The IRIS aims at creating an infrastructure that can withstand disasters and lessen the economic losses in island nations.
IRIS will be launched with initial funding of USD 10 million from Australia, India, and the UK.

Invest India elected as the President of WAIPA for 2021-23
Invest India has been unanimously elected as the President of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) for 2021-23.
The other members of the WAIPA Steering Committee include two Vice Presidents and nine regional directors.
Invest India is a National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency to help investors with investment opportunities and options in India.
