Amit Shah addresses first ‘National Cooperative Conference’
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah has inaugurated and addressed the first-ever National Cooperative Conference at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.
The conference was India’s first cooperative conference to provide a platform for accelerating and strengthening Indian cooperatives on the global stage.
The conference was organized jointly by the IFFCO, National Cooperative Federation of India, Amul, Sahakar Bharti, NAFED, KRIBHCO, and all cooperatives together.

MoRD and NIRD&PR present Hunarbaaz Award
National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR), Hyderabad under the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) presented ‘Hunarbaaz Award’ to 75 diyangjan candidates.
Virtual award ceremony was organised by NIRDPR with MoRD, in collaboration with the State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs) and Rural Self-employment Training Institutes.
CEOs of SRLMs and Directors of RSETIs presented the awards at respective states to the specially-abled achievers

IIT Delhi launches launches Center on Quantum Technologies
IIT Delhi has set up a ‘Centre of Excellence on Quantum Technologies’ in a bid to conduct research activities in the related fields.
The CoE will bring synergy and coherence in the activities that are being carried out at IIT Delhi.
The CoE will focus on select thrust areas including quantum computing, quantum sensing & metrology, quantum communication and quantum materials & devices.

Weaver Services and Design Resource Center to be set up in Kullu
Union Minister for Commerce, Industry and Textiles, Piyush Goyal has announced to set up a ‘Weaver Services and Design Resource Center’ in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh.
The center will encourage attractive handicraft products of the state and provide a better platform to export these products at the International market.
The program was organized under ‘Seva and Samarpan Abhiyan’ to commemorate the golden jubilee year of statehood of Himchal Pradesh.

Switzerland legalises same-sex marriage
The voter in Switzerland have decided to legalize same-sex marriage making it one of the last countries in Western Europe to do so.
The law also grants lesbian couples to get access to sperm banks as well as allows same-sex couples to adopt children.
Same-sex couples in Switzerland have been able to enter into a civil partnership since 2007.
Quick Facts: Italy is the only country in Western Europe which does not allow marriage between same-sex couples.

Tourism Ministry launches NIDHI 2.0 and India Tourism Statistics
The Ministry of Tourism has launched NIDHI 2.0 and ‘India Tourism Statistics- At a Glance, 2021’ recently.
The Ministry of Turism will also sign a MOU with UNEP and the Responsible Tourism Sector of India to actively promote and support sustainable alternatives in the tourism sector.
The Ministry of Tourism is the apex body for formulation and administration of the rules, regulations and laws relating to the development and promotion of tourism in India.

Union Minister flags off 2nd Ultimate Ladakh Cycling Challenge at Leh
Union Minister Anurag Thakur has flagged off the second edition of the Ultimate Ladakh Cycling Challenge at Leh, Ladakh.
The challenge has been organised by Ladakh Police in coordination with the Cycling Federation of India at 11,000 ft above sea level.
The challenge is also a part of Fit India Campaign “Let’s cycle, let’s stay fit, let’s keep India fit. If the youth is fit, India is fit”.
