Pakistan has been added to the FATF’s grey list once more.Â
The Financial Action Task Force (FATF), a global money laundering and terrorist financing watchdog, has kept Pakistan on the grey list and asked it to focus on money laundering investigations and prosecutions.
Quick Fact: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has also been added to the FATF’s grey watchlist.
National Affairs
PM Narendra Modi inaugurates the Pune Metro Rail Project, which costs Rs 11,400 crore.
During his 10-minute trip on the Pune Metro, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi launched the Pune Metro Rail Project and engaged with differently-abled, visually impaired kids.
The Pune Metro Rail Project cost INR 11,420 crores to construct. It has 30 stops with a total length of 33.2 kilometres.
Quick Fact: Pune Metro is the country’s first metro system to have aluminium body coaches made in India as part of the government’s Make in India initiative.

SBI has appointed Nitin Chugh, the former CEO of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, as DMD.Â
Nitin Chugh, the former CEO of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, has been named as the State Bank of India’s (SBI) Deputy Managing Director (DMD) in charge of the bank’s digital banking activities. He will serve for a three-year term.
Chugh was the CEO and managing director of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank before to being appointed to this position. He was the Group Head of Digital Banking at HDFC Bank when he was hired there.

RuPay has been appointed as the official partner of the Tata IPL 2022 by the BCCI.Â
The Governing Council of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCIIndianPremier )’s League (IPL) has selected National Payments Corporation of India (NPCIflagshipRuPay) as the Tata IPL 2022 official partner. This is a multi-year collaboration.
RuPay is a technology-driven, innovative, and personalised payment system that is accepted both in Russia and around the world.
Quick Fact: The Tata IPL 2022, which will be co-presented by Dream11, will be co-presented by Tata and CRED.
Awards
NMDC wins first place in the Ispat Rajbhasha Award for the years 2018-19 and 2020-21.Â
The country’s largest iron ore producer, National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd, a CPSE under the Ministry of Steel, got first place in the Ispat Rajbhasha Award for 2018-19 and 2020-21, as well as the Ispat Rajbhasha Prerna Award for 2019-20.
The award was presented at a meeting of the Ministry of Steel’s Hindi Salahakar Committee in Madurai on March 3, 2022.
Shri Ram Chandra Prasad Singh, Union Minister of Steel, handed the awards to Shri Sumit Deb, Chairman and Managing Director of NMDC.
